Dr. A.H. Rizvi

President and Founder - Rizvi Education Society | Former Member of Parliament - Rajya Sabha | Philanthropist

Dr. Akhtar Hasan Rizvi, born on 24th July 1942 to Syed Manzoor Hasan Rizvi and Kaniz Kubra, is a distinguished educationist, entrepreneur, and philanthropist whose lifelong vision has empowered communities across India.

With a doctorate from the University of Mumbai and a diploma in Business Management, Dr. Rizvi began his professional journey with a strong foundation in academic excellence. In 1975, he founded Rizvi Builders, a real estate enterprise that significantly contributed to the transformation of urban landscapes in Mumbai and Goa.

However, his true passion lay in building minds and futures. In 1982, he established the Rizvi Education Society with the aim of expanding access to quality education. What began with Rizvi College of Arts, Science & Commerce and Rizvi Springfield High School has since grown into a network of 29 educational institutions. Today, the Society runs institutions in fields such as Management, Engineering, Architecture, Law, Hospitality, and Education, primarily affiliated with the University of Mumbai.

Dr. Rizvi extended this educational mission to Uttar Pradesh through the Dr. Akhtar Rizvi Educational Trust, founded in 2005. Under this trust, numerous degree colleges were launched - especially focused on empowering young girls and rural youth - in areas where educational access was limited.

His commitment to public service is also noteworthy. As a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha (1998–2004) and State President of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in Uttar Pradesh, Dr. Rizvi advocated for education, healthcare, and rural development at the national level.

Alongside Advocate Rubina Akhtar Hasan Rizvi, he co-founded the Help Yourself Foundation, a charitable initiative that addresses cancer awareness and support. The foundation’s flagship event - the Saquib Rizvi Memorial Cancer Awareness Marathon - serves as a tribute to their late son and continues to raise awareness and hope for countless families affected by cancer.

Today, Dr. Rizvi’s legacy is reflected in the lives of thousands of students - graduates who have gone on to become business leaders, national athletes, researchers, entrepreneurs, and social leaders. His work has not only impacted institutions but also transformed communities across India.
