Overview

An accelerated MBA program is a condensed, intensive certificate course that offers an MBA education in less than a year, rather than the usual two years. This eleven month accelerated MBA carries the dual advantage of saving both time and money and yet delivers the critical content with flair and rigour. The course is designed to build upon the business fundamentals and get the participants back in the workforce with new skills and knowledge that will propel their career forward. In the duration of the course, the participants shall be immersed in a rigorous curriculum, learn from the best faculty and build leadership experience and a supportive network that will help them immediately and throughout their career.

Being significantly more experienced than a traditional two- year MBA student, the typical executive participant seeks to re-enter the job market at a more senior level upon completion of their course. The eleven month format of the accelerated MBA makes the opportunity cost of attending the program more attractive than the two-year MBA. The eleven-month curriculum is designed to provide a general management education and practice by emphasizing critical thinking and problem solving skills in a global marketplace.

The EPGPM offers a unique opportunity for middle and senior level executives to refresh, broaden and upgrade their managerial skills without interrupting their professional activities. It is intended for working executives seeking to upgrade and update their skills in order to catapult their organization into next growth orbit. Course Details

Course Advantages

The course shall :
  • Sharing of experiences and Perspectives of a diverse mix of experienced executives, managers, Professionals, Entrepreneurs and owners/ promoters of Family Based Businesses from across industries, verticals and practices

  • Stimulate understanding of real business world through emphasis on practical cases that simulates real life situations. To inculcate values and attitudes which provide them social awareness and responsibility.

Course Structure

The course shall :
  • Be covered using classroom teaching only
  • Be spread over 11 months
  • Be spread over 60 days
  • Have 360 hours of teaching
  • Have sessions only on weekends
  • Each day shall have two sessions of 3 hours each
  • The sessions will be held from 10.00 am – 5.00 pm

Course Eligibility

Applicants interested in the course must :
  • Be at least a graduate from a recognized University
  • Have minimum two years of work experience
  • Comply with the admission procedure as stipulated

Course Essentials

The course mandates :
  • Participants must carry laptops for every session
  • Minimum attendance of 80% to be eligible for the certificate
  • Adhere to the disciplinary norms as laid by the Institute
  • Pay fees as per schedule

Course Completion

Participants shall successfully complete the course on the fulfillment of the following conditions :
  • Mandatory attendance of 80%
  • Completion of all assignments as and when given in the course
  • Appear for an end of the course assessment
  • Score minimum 50% of marks in the end of the course assessment

Course Reward

Participants who successfully complete the programme shall be awarded “Certificate in Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management” by Rizvi Institute of Management Studies & Research.

Admission and Fees

Interested participants have to fill in the admission form available online. The online form is available on the Institute website www.rmi.rizvi.edu.in. Applicants are requested to download the form and mail the duly filled in form to epgpm@rmi.rizvi.edu.in. Forms shall be available online for download and submission from Tuesday 5th April, 2016 to Friday 15th July, 2016.

The institute shall conduct a telephonic interview of the applicants who submit the form. Applicants shall be admitted basis the profile and the telephonic interview. Admitted candidates shall be informed by mail on the email id registered in the form.

The course shall commence from Saturday 6th August, 2016 with the Orientation Programme. The schedule of the programme (lecture schedules) is attached along with the admission form.

1. Dr. Kalim Khan
Kalim KhanDr. Kalim Khan is a truly multi faceted personality and to say that he adorns each hat with elan and exceptional commitment and credibility would be an understatement. An academician by heart, a management consultant with an eye for detail, an enriching and entertaining trainer, and an author with a penchant for exhibiting thought leadership, Dr. Kalim Khan plays all these roles with class, exuberance and style.

Dr. Kalim Khan is the Director of Rizvi Institute of Management Studies & Research and carries the repute of being amongst the most prominent trainers on analytics in industry as well as academia. A Ph.D. in quantitative techniques, his forte lies in simplifying the most complex concepts of statistics. He has been training and consulting on data analytics and allied areas with some of the best brands. He gets to the team a combination of conceptual clarity and complex applications.

2. Dr. Shariq Nisar
ShariqNisarShariq Nisar has carved a niche for himself in the domain of Alternative Finance and is amongst the very few names in India that are an authority on the various subjects in this domain. He has made some seminal contributions to India’s financial sector by launching India’s first Shari’ah index with the Bombay Stock Exchange, first ethical mutual fund scheme and first venture capital scheme approved on Shari’ah lines by the Indian capital market regulator, SEBI. He also played a key role in the design and launch of Shari’ah Index at Chittagong Stock Exchange, Bangladesh.

He has been equally active in the academic field with teaching, research and training. He has structured and started alternate finance programs at various universities and institutes including Aligarh Muslim University, BSAR University and the BSE Institute. His Co-edited book Takaful and Islamic Cooperative Finance is published my Edward Elgar, UK.

3. Dr. Garima Sharma
Garima SharmaDr. Garima Sharma has been in the academics, research and consultancy profession for more than 10 years. She has noteworthy experience in Organizational consultancy and research particularly in areas of Organization Restructuring, Balanced Scorecard Implementation, Design and Development of Performance Management System, Strategy Formulation, Organization Visioning and subsequent Cascade, Design & Development of Organization wide Competency Framework, Designing Positional Competency Model, Organizational Diagnostics, Employee Engagement Survey.

Garima has been training and consulting with organisations in her areas of interest. She carries excellent academic credentials and is impeccably well read.

4. Cyrus Gonda
Cyrus GondaA rank-holding MBA from the prestigious NMIMS (Mumbai University), Cyrus is a also a qualified life-member of the prestigious International Society of individuals with Genius Level IQ – MENSA, a solid proof of his intellectual ability and creative prowess. 5. Sanjay Gupta
Sanjay GuptaSanjay Gupta is an Assistant Professor at Rizvi Institute of Management Studies & Research. He specializes in Information Technology. Sanjay has an expertise in translating business requirements into structured systems specifications, analyze customer requirements and develop Information Technology solutions. He is proficient in various software technologies involving client server and web based development.

Sanjay Gupta has been in the training profession for more than 20 years focusing on the target groups ranging from fresher to senior technical professionals. Sanjay conducts trainings on various technical subjects in Information Technology. He holds a B.Tech. from IIT-B and is an MBA in Information Systems. He has been regularly conducting training programmes in Programming Languages, Data Base Management and Big Data.

6. S.B. Raje
Subhash RajeSubhash Raje is into academics for over four decades now. In his rich academic journey, Raje has been associated with various educational institutions in multiple capacities. He was Vice Principal of Bhavan’s H.S. College before he retired from there in 2007. Prior to becoming Vice Principal, he was also the Head of Economics Department of the Institute. During this period, he also served as the head of unaided courses.

Apart from teaching, Raje also undertook assignments with Government of Maharashtra to help them do a Cost-Benefit Analysis for Renewable Sources of Energy. He has also conducted workshops on application of mathematics in economics for academicians. He is also a co-author of the book “Founders of Political Economy and Economic Systems” and has also prepared work-book for Micro and Macro Economics for S.P. Jain Management Institute.

7. Rajesh Vyas
RajeshVyasRajesh Vyas is a Management Professional with over 36 six years’ experience in Sales and Marketing in the Domestic as well as International markets and specializes in Profit Centre Management. Beginning his career as Marketing Officer, he retired as Vice-President of Profit Centre.

Rajesh Vyas was always passionate for learning, teaching and training. He has been involved in academics for over 30 years as visiting faculty at several management Institutes of repute in and around Mumbai. Now a full time faculty at Rizvi Institute of Management Studies & Research, he trains the budding Marketing Managers in the domain of International Marketing and Services Management. Rajesh Vyas’ professional experience comprise Sales and Marketing of the entire gamut of Business to Businessranging from Components, Consumables, Service Products, Capital Installations and Processing Chemicals.

8. A. Nagendra
ANagendraNagendra Aswatha is a B.E. (Mechanical) from VJTI, Mumbai and M.M.S. from S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research, Mumbai. He has 33 years of post-qualification experience all through in the Shipping, Logistics & Supply Chain function. The first 18 years was on the client’s side with reputed corporates like Kansai Nerolac Paints and Hindustan Unilever (HUL) while the last 12 years the exposure has been in the 3PL sector & Shipping Industry with organizations like DHL-Exel & Maersk Logistics (now Damco).

His recent assignments included working in the capacity of Chief Operating Officer- COO – for the Shipping and Logistics Division of Forbes & Co. Ltd. – F&CL-since Feb 2010 until Jan 2014. He was last working in the capacity of Associate Director in ThinkLink Supply Chain Services from Feb 2014 to August 2015, which is mainly in the area of Consulting, Training & Automation in material handling.

9. Pradeep Gogte
PradeepGogtePradeep Gogte, is an MA in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai. Since then, he worked with renowned organisations such as Godrej & Boyce, Tata Power Co, Johnson & Johnson, Skypak Couriers, Wartsila Diesel and Tata Donnelley. A veteran in HR with over 30 years of experience, he has worked across various domains and disciplines in HR. Courtesy his experience he brings to the classroom a wonderful blend of academic theory and contemporary practices.

He also worked for about 6 years with high-profile management institutes like the Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad, and the S P Jain Center of Management, Dubai – Singapore. He last worked in the HR function with Adfactors PR Pvt Ltd, Mumbai, as Vice President – Human Resources.

10. Mohd. Osaid Koti
OsaidKotiMohammed Osaid Koti, is associated with Rizvi Institute of Management Studies & Research as Assistant Professor and Course Coordinator for the Post Graduate Programme for more than six years. Mohd. Osaid Koti (Green Belt Six Sigma certified) specializes in the applications of quantitative and statistical techniques to business decision making which include decision analysis, optimization models, simulation, and data mining. He is conversant with spreadsheet modeling and usage of data visualization techniques for report presentations.

He is an accomplished corporate trainer and has successfully trained participants of companies such as Acumen Business Consultancy, Sethia Group, The Wadhwa Group, Shree Shubham Logistics, Rubberwala Builders and also several Non Profit Organisations.

11. Umar Farooq
Umar FarooqAn academician by choice, Umar Farooq is currently an Assistant Professor with Rizvi Institute of Management Studies & Research and is associated with the institute since 2010. He specializes in Cost Management, Financial Aspects of Marketing and Management Control Systems. His research area ranges from Islamic Finance to Government Policies and Regulations. Besides Rizvi, Umar Farooq is also associated as a Senior Economic Researcher with Deutsches Asienforschungszentrum (DAfz), a German Public Policy Research firm. His role encompasses doing an economic assessment of public policy initiatives of various countries across Asia.

Umar Farooq holds a Masters in Management Studies from University of Mumbai, specializing in Finance and is pursuing his Doctoral Studies on the key benefits of Islamic Finance in India. He has been regularly publishing research papers and two of his papers were adjudged as the best research papers in National Conference.

12. Jamil Saudagar
Jamil SaudagarJamil Saudagar is an accomplished trainer in MS Excel and Financial Modelling. He provides consultancy and advisory services to corporate clients on MS Excel, Visual Studio, SQL Server and Oracle for business applications. He has a corporate work experience of 14 years, working across a wide spectrum of Banking and Financial Services verticals. His diverse exposure includes: Corporate Banking, Capital Markets and Fixed Income Securities.

Jamil has a passion for writing computer programs that automate business processes and speed up data analysis. His application of various tools, which enhance efficiency and process productivity, has been adopted by his employers – Morgan Stanley, IL&FS and Citigroup.

13. Aijaz Jaffri
Aijaz JafriAijaz Jafri has more than ten years of Cross Cultural and International Exposure in Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering based organization. He has been associated with US institutions based in Michigan, Wisconsin, St. Louis and San Diego in the domain of engineering and Operations Management. Aijaz was awarded full scholarship from Western Michigan University for his MS program and was also the recipient of Outstanding Student award for the year 2005 in the Industrial Engineering department.

Aijaz has worked on multiple projects in the domain of operations prominent being leading a team of professionals on a challenging project involving traffic simulation in Los Angeles. He was also one of the consultants for Bank of America and Wells Fargo in the areas of productivity enhancements.

14. Bhaskar Sinha
Bhaskar SinhaBhaskar Sinha has held various academic and corporate positions in a career spanning 12 years. He has substantial experience in application of academic research across industries, designing industry-oriented courseware, organizing academia-industry interfaced guest lectures and training. Bhaskar specializes in the area of Firm Financing Decisions, Financial Intermediation, Market Microstructure, Applied Econometrics Research with a distinct goal to creating a paradigm shift in the strategy and practice of management professionals.

Bhaskar Sinha graduated with Electrical Engineering from Nagpur University with distinction and has a Post Graduate Diploma in Management with Finance & Marketing (dual specialization). Furthermore, he completed his management teachers program (MTP) specializing in Finance. He was awarded Full Scholarship from ICFAI University for the Visiting Scholars Program to Department of Finance, M. J. Whitman School of Management, Syracuse University, New York.
